Optum is developing an exciting new platform intended to help stakeholders in health plans, contracted clinical practices, and others assigned to virtual care teams better leverage the power of fully harmonized, multi-source patient information in clinical management workflow automation. This platform’s functionality will evolve over time to help different types of users more efficiently and effectively manage care for defined cohorts of patients based on a unique ability to rapidly ingest / harmonize data; different kinds of data, and then apply clinical management business rules in real time to drive well defined actions. Platform users will ultimately spend less time gathering and reconciling information as a basis for clinical management of individual patients and populations, and more time executing clinical management processes for more patients.
 
In this role, you will assemble and lead a small, highly functioning team tasked with working alongside new customers to document shared business objectives for increased clinical management process automation. This team will contain dedicated analysts and web developers able to work efficiently and rapidly. In this role, supported by a small dedicated team, you will help define innovative new use cases for the platform designed to meet clear business objectives in innovative new ways. The person in this role will then formulate and operate proofs of concept and / or pilots that test attainment of stated business objectives and related use case innovations. Specifically, this person will:


Work with defined stakeholders as part of a team to document and validate program outcomes and related business requirements

Translate business requirements into proposed clinical management work processes / business rules for defined roles

Drive user interface development – enable innovative new functionality

Help drive stakeholder review and document approval for new content during user acceptance testing

Help document new content for purposes of supporting internal and external system users

Help customers define requirements for scaling and related operational support

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree

2+ years of experience working in clinical setting within the last 10 years – directly or in a consultative capacity – demonstrated knowledge of how provider practices are generally structured and how they operate from clinical and administrative perspectives

2+ years of experience driving change in clinical management processes / workflows

1+ years of experience demonstrating ability to develop innovations from design to prototyping for advanced clients

Ability to demonstrate detailed understanding of developing strong planning/ strategy frameworks that can be easily understood

2+ years of experience working knowledge of at least one Electronic Medical Record (EMR) – moderate level of understanding about how EMRs work

Exposure to Health Information Exchanges in clinical practice

Exposure to Health Information Exchanges in clinical practice

Affinity for start-up environments and project based work

Strong critical thinking skills

Ability to independently navigate complexity – and keep small team focused, motivated and productive

Exceptionally strong organizational and communication skills

Demonstrated experience teaching others new concepts and related applications

Strong customer management skills – able to inspire confidence, convince others, bring large groups with divergent opinions together 
Preferred Qualifications:


Clinical credential – RN / PA / NP or LCSW
