Our Vision for this Role

As an Inbound Transportation Strategy and Operations Manager you are a crucial part of our supply chain network, managing strategic external partnerships in all of our consolidation centers across the network. You’ll build the tools and provide the critical analysis to support us getting the right product, to the right place, at the right time. Working in a fast-paced retail business, no day will be the same!

You will be assigned a mix of core responsibilities which will optimize logistics operational performance, drive cost savings and build the necessary tools and capabilities to support our continued growth. These responsibilities would be, but are not limited to:

• Building new reports, refining existing reports and report automation
• Leading facility and carrier business reviews
• Partnering with senior leadership
• Strategic cross-functional projects

The Skills that will Make You Successful

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years’ experience in an analytical and strategic role, with 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Highly analytical approach to problem solving, leveraging their exceptional Microsoft Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment; product moves quickly through our supply chain network, it is important to react quickly to incoming requests.
• A self-director who can manage their own timelines and set priorities
• Strong Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills; no day is the same in off-price retail, the ability to assess situations quickly and provide alternate solutions is key to success.
• Ability to influence others without authority and lead the business with vision and strategy.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships; you are the face of TJX to many of our external strategic partners.
• Flexible and adaptable; priorities change frequently based on business demands, the ability to change direction quickly is critical.
• High aptitude for manipulating and making inferences from data.
• Ability to develop new tools and processes to support TJX global supply chain goals and objectives.

The Responsibilities You will have in this Role

• Manages multiple consolidation operations, volume projections, maintains required trailer pools, and solicits additional equipment from carriers in order to make seasonal adjustments as needed.

• Responsibly for the efficient execution of product receipt, sortation, cross-dock, and shipping levels of service.

• Manages the continuous moves process for the TJX domestic divisions. Ensures on-site carrier contractors maintain a high level of service and lowest loaded to empty miles ratio for regional fleets.

• Manages and develops team members for future growth within the department and organization.

• Performs monthly volume forecasting and year-end closings related to consolidation, cross-docking and continuous moves operations.

• Interacts with Inbound and Outbound Corporate Transportation Management both internally and in the field for problem solving and system data maintenance.
• Develops processes and procedures for best practices related to continuous moves, consolidation and cross-dock operations.

• Develops and manages Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the department. Uses KPIs, dashboards, reporting to identify and translate the connections and core issues to operational and financial controls.
• Works closely with the IT Department on the testing and implementation of applications, upgrades, patches and EDI information related to TMS, tools and data management.
