A successful Content Operations Manager will have the following skills:

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously
  • Ability to build teams, hire, fire and effectively manage a high performing group of individuals, drive to results and collaborate across broad parts of the organization
  • A genuine desire and acumen for business process and flows with a resilience to work in a start-up environment, and balance between aggressive short term deliverables, long term goals and stay focused on sustainable operational measures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to interact effectively with C-level executives, ad sales managers and executives, marketing managers, operations managers, IT management, software development, test teams, engineering, programming managers and executives, programmers/networks and infrastructure teams
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management; knowledge of digital ad operations, knowledge of ad campaign lifecycles, management, and execution tools pertaining to all digital platforms and across all lines of business; knowledge of software project management techniques and tools 
  • Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management and change management 
  • Solid experience with MS Project, Adobe, Jira, Ad network tools, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint

The Content Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of VOD on Sling TV, as well as maintaining a visually appealing programming product. This manager will oversee the onboarding of new SVOD programming partners and TVOD studios, ensure that all assets are received and error-free, coordinate efforts with counterparts at Dish and DANY, validate metadata and images are correct, and quickly communicate and address all customer-facing issues with content.

 

 

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

 

  • Build, lead and manage team for content operations for Sling TV
  • Ensure all assets are available and playable
  • Establish processes for onboarding networks
  • Develop troubleshooting and testing process
  • Ensure teams have a central repository to processes, files, documents, etc. and disseminate information timely, collectively and comprehensively across the organization and key stakeholders
  • Setting team direction and driving the strategic objective of meeting the Sling TV margin goals through ad sales
  • Coordinating activities across different organizational functions
  • Daily communication with EchoStar Content Operations and Farallon teams
  • Management of MetaCloud mapping tool
  • Addressing metadata and image issues internally and with EPG partners
