The Senior Provider Relations Advocate is responsible for the full range of provider relations and service interactions within UnitedHealth Group. In this role, you will present information to large and small groups while also managing additional projects. You will work on end-to-end provider claim and call quality, ease of use of physician portal and future service enhancements along with training & development of external provider education programs (including telephonic and field based interactions).   Senior Provider Relations Advocates coordinate completion of provider attestations to ensure all provider demographics, including product participation are properly represented in My Practice Profile and all UHC internal systems.  Responsibilities also include educating providers on UHC products and their participation status within those products to ensure attestations are completed with 100% accuracy, training providers on the technology used to increase adoption and ease of use of physician portal and future service enhancements, and identifying for submission  provider demographic changes for end to end resolution.  Senior Provider Relations Advocates design and implement programs to build and nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers (physician, hospital, ancillary, etc.), and practice managers. Responsibilities also include directing and implementing strategies relating to the development and management of a provider network, identifying gaps in network composition and services to assist the network contracting and development staff in prioritizing contracting needs, and may also be involved in identifying and remediating operational short-falls and researching and remediating claims.

May be required to travel within assigned markets (field visits to provider locations)
Will need to be located in Northern VA as this role will have a heavy emphasis on Fairfax County.

Requirements


 
Required Qualifications:

3+ years of experience with provider contracting/provider relations/provider network/provider data
3+ years of experience in the health care industry
Intermediate (or better) level of proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel (including use of filters, removing duplicates, converting text to columns, and basic formulas, etc.)
Intermediate level of proficiency in claims processing and issue resolution
Exceptional presentation, written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting in both large and small settings
High attention to details
Ability to work independently and remain on task
Good organization and territory planning skills
Strong interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines from multi-staff members within the department
Field based travel may be necessary up to 50% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree
Intermediate level of proficiency with MS PowerPoint and MS Access
1+ years of experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulations
