Position Summary: Complete benefit verification and pre-certification/prior-authorization for Home Health & Hospice services as appropriate per patient's plan requirements. Communicate with clinical practice, patient care team, and Utilization Review to ensure pre-certification requirements are met. Ensures that accurate demographic and insurance information is entered in both billing systems for claims processing. Greets all customers in a friendly, courteous and caring manner.

Communicate with clinical practice, patient care team, and Utilization Review to ensure pre-certification requirements are met. Ensures that accurate demographic and insurance information is entered in both billing systems for claims processing. Greets all customers in a friendly, courteous and caring manner.

Qualifications: Advanced computer and office equipment knowledge, and ability to operate windows based programs. At least one year of customer service experience. One-year secondary education in health care related field and/or equivalent experience. Thorough knowledge and understanding of medical terminology. Demonstrates the ability to interpret and understand medical dictation and communicate effectively regarding medical procedures.

Additional Qualifications: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Detail oriented, strong organizational and prioritization skills, and ability to multitask. Consistently pleasant and helpful with strong customer service skills. Ability to remain calm and defuse difficult situations. Ability to work individually, and as a member of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including persistence, ability to negotiate, and maintain diplomacy when working with clinical areas. Demonstrates understanding of insurance benefits, estimated fee quotes, and determining out of pocket expenses for patient. Ability to work out of multiple computer systems symotanously.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $14.75 per hour.
