RN Outpatient Clinic Wound

POSITION TITLE: Registered Nurse

DEPARTMENT: Wound Center

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the coordination of clinical activities of the Wound Care Center. These include, but are not limited to, utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care through the use of hospital and nursing standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION, TRAINING EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

B. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES SKILLS:

* Planning/organizing, dependability, multitasking, problem-solving, oral communication, teamwork, professionalism, high energy, follow-up, customer service, collaboration and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

* Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as web- based database.

C. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Registered Nurse with a current license, Wound Care Certification preferred. Medical Surgical, home health, or wound care, also preferred. Maintains and demonstrates competency in BLS (Basic Life Support), infections control, safety and all unit required skill review.

JOB DUTIES:

RESPONSIBILITIES/ADMINISTRATIVE/CLINICAL:

1. Provides case management to a group of patients providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management, and acts as patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care.

2. Provides efficient and effective care with the guidance of the physician during the clinic sessions, attends the clinics where scheduled and is dependable. Able to manage a number of patients at the same time withhigh energy and organization.

3. Collaborates with other health care providers, wound care center Physicians, Program Director and Medical Director, regarding clinic and patient needs.
