Position Summary: The Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a CRNA to join a growing practice at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, MN. The CRNA will be joining a team of eight Anesthesiologists, seventeen Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and three Anesthesia Technicians. The CRNA performs IV regional blocks, subarachnoid blocks, and all types of cases with the exception of open hearts.

Responsibilities: Position Overview:

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) performs clinical anesthesia duties and takes appropriate responsibility for direct patient care and for on-call as assigned. The CRNA prioritizes anesthetic decisions, administers anesthetic agents under department protocols and guidelines, and communicates patient status to healthcare team members. This individual performs coordinating duties by facilitating staff coverage, assignments, and breaks as needed for anesthesia providers. This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the priniciples of growth and development of the lifespan. Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs as required. The CRNA demonstrates leadership through involvement on committees and/or team projects, education, and research and actively seeks to improve the practice through performance improvement initiatives. This individual is active in professional organizations and participates in community activity. Emergency response to airway or code situations may be required. Position requires call and working weekends and holidays.

Qualifications: This position requires a registered nurse who has completed a formal program in nurse anesthesia. The anesthetist must pass the national certifying examination for nurse anesthetists within six months of graduation. Within that six months, if the certifying exam is not passed, the candidate cannot be credentialed to practice. Must have a Masters Degree or higher to be considered. Mayo employees attach 3 performance reviews. External applicants attach 2 letters of reference or previous or last 3 performance reviews.

Additional Qualifications: Experience as a CRNA preferred.

License or Certification: Valid Minnesota registered nurse licensure. AANA certification. Credentialed by Allied Health Practitioner Credentialing Subcommittee. Requires APRN.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $6,437.60, based on a full-time position.

Hours/Pay Period: Full time

Schedule Details:

* Normal day shift is 6:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

* 2nd call weekday shift is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

* At home call at completion from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

* 1st call weekday shift is 2:45 p.m. to 6:45 a.m. and is an in-house call shift.

* CRNA is off for the day following the 16 hour shift

* In-house call and home call distributed equally among sixteen full-time CRNA's.

Weekend Schedule: In house shift from 6:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. & 6:45 p.m. to 6:45 a.m.
