PeopleScout is currently hiring for Sr. Recruiters in the Chicago area.  These roles are located onsite at our Peoplescout office at 860 W. Evergreen Chicago, IL 60642 supporting our client, Marriott International, the world’s largest hospitality company with nearly 6,000 properties in 120 countries.  These positions are open because of our client’s significant business growth.    

Summary

The Recruiters is the primary interface for the client and is the liaison between candidates, hiring managers and HR Business Partners. The Recruiter effectively sources and qualifies prospective candidates for both existing and opportunistic positions while simultaneously educating clients regarding market conditions and trends. The Recruiter provides guidance to hiring managers to aid in the selection of the strongest candidate, negotiates offers and start dates, and ensures a smooth onboarding process for the new hires.

Main Duties

Client and Candidate Management:

  • Build strong relationships with candidates (both internal and external), hiring managers and client HR representatives to ensure optimal experience.  Positively represent client opportunities and employment brand.
  • Conduct intake session with hiring manager to understand the position requirements, set hiring manager expectations and gather input regarding sourcing approach.
  • Develop and execute robust sourcing strategies to build candidate slate using direct sourcing, referrals, and additional existing and emerging channels (e.g. social media, text campaigns, telephone networking, user groups, and other in-person networking activities).
  • Ensure high quality candidates are sourced and submitted in a timely manner; keep hiring manager informed of sourcing progress.
  • Partner with Recruiting Coordinator teammates to ensure timely interviews scheduling and offer coordination.
  • Adhere to client's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with legal requirements and labor laws.
  • Demonstrate good judgment to determine when unique situations require exceptions to SOPs.

Assess and Interview Candidates:

  • Conduct behavior based screening (STAR) interviews, in person and/or via telephone, of qualified candidates.
  • Provide feedback regarding candidate quality and sources to Sourcing team on ongoing basis.
  • Lead and manage the candidate interview, selection, and offer process.
  • Debrief with hiring managers and interviewers to determine selected candidates and disposition candidates not selected.
  • Communicate results to the primary Sourcing team contact to determine go-forward sourcing strategy for position.
  • Work with hiring manager to discuss compensation package, level and start date to be presented to candidate.
  • Obtain all necessary documentation and approvals prior to presenting offer to candidates.
  • Remain in regular and close communication with candidate to answer any questions or address any concerns that arise. Relay feedback to hiring manager to keep him/her abreast of status and progress.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve concerns and issues.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and audit requirements as outlined in the statement of work from the client.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of 5 years’ equivalent recruitment experience

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an advisory level recruiting environment  
  • Experience recruiting in a professional services and/or large and complex corporate environment is highly preferred
  • Excellent relationship building and verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience in professional level recruiting roles that include a variety of skill sets to include Hospitality, HR, Food & Beverage/Culinary or Sales 
  • Ability to adapt to changing business priorities
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environment
  • Keen attention to detail; natural curiosity about people and their backgrounds
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Technical aptitude in use of business software and applicant tracking systems (Taleo/Ascendify)
  • Knowledge of and experience with recruiting practices, HR, candidate process management, behavioral interviewing skills, and other assessment techniques desired
