Staff Accountant (Revenue)
Position Scope:
The Staff Accountant assists in the overall functions of the Accounting Department. This individual assists with regular month-end and year-end closing responsibilities including, but not limited to, preparing and analyzing a variety of monthly account reconciliations and preparing appropriate adjusting journal entries as needed. Also, this individual works closely with the Accounting team to review sections of the P&L, as well as other related day to day accounting functions. Perform revenue accounting and accounts receivable responsibilities. Assist in ad hoc reporting and projects including, but not limited to annual audit, and various audit requests.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Accounting: (25%)
o Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports for both domestic and licensing sales.
o Maintain licensing sales Access Database.
o Support point of sales systems and any custom reporting.
o Address questions from Marketing & Operations Teams for Special Events.
Accounts Receivable: (25%)
o Prepare invoices for License Partners and any Special Events at the Shacks.
o Process monthly cash receipts.
o Prepare accounts receivable aging and ensure timely collections.
Month-end and Year-end Close: (30%)
o Prepare journal entries for corporate card expenses imported from Concur Expense Reporting System.
o Prepare journal entries for close.
o Prepare monthly account reconciliations in Blackline balance sheet software.
o Coordinate general ledger review and resolve questions/comments from Operations Teams.
o Perform variance analysis of P&L’s.
Other Duties and Ad Hoc Projects: (20%)
o Assist with annual audit, various audit requests.
o Provide support to cross functional teams.
o Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as requested.

Minimum Qualifications
Relevant Skills, Knowledge & Ability
1-2 years of working experience in private and/or public accounting.
Restaurant industry experience a plus
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
Familiarity with general ledger systems a plus (MAS, Great Plains)
Familiarity with revenue recognition

Education/Certifications:
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance from accredited university.
CPA or CPA track preferred
