If you enjoy working with the public and have a friendly, outgoing personality we want to talk with you! The ideal candidate displays a positive attitude when interacting with guests and employees and enjoys the challenges of providing great service.
Common Tasks
o Welcome guests to the restaurant
o Listen for opportunities to help guests - anticipate needs.
o Provide food recommendations
o Visit with guests in the dining room
o Maintain dining area cleanliness and communicate with the Manager in Charge.
o Solve guests' problems as they arise
o Adjust your interactions based on the guest's desired experience
o Ask every guest how they enjoyed their visit and invite them back soon
Skills You Need
The most important skill you need is hospitality. A Hostess / Host must go above and beyond to provide outstanding service to every guest. Hosts must enjoy social situations and feel comfortable talking with all types of
guests. During these conversations, you must communicate in a friendly & genuine way to make guests
feel welcomed. Because guests all enjoy different types of experiences, Hosts must read people accurately
and adapt their own interactions accordingly. Maintaining self control during stressful or difficult situations
is also critical.
Because Hosts must accomplish many tasks throughout a shift, you must follow-through on
commitments and multitask to make sure all responsibilities are completed. Hosts must work well in team
environments and keep track of many details. Hosts must take initiative to solve guests' problem and
decide on a course of action.
