The Denver Improv in Northfield/Stapleton has an immediate opening for a line cook cook position. The ideal candidates must be highly organized, have good time management skills, be reliable with reliable transportation and have prior experience in a high volume and fast paced kitchen. The Improv is located at 8246 Northfield Blvd. #1400 Denver, CO 80238 (we are across the street from Cowboy Saloon)

Essential Functions: As a line cook, your job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepares all food items to order, following standardized recipes and procedures.
  • Preps assigned items.
  • Accepts or rejects ingredients based on quality and quantity.
  • Minimizes waste of product.
  • Labels all food items for food safety and shelf-life standards.
  • Keeps the Fry area neat, clean and sanitary.
  • Cleans, organizes, and maintains walk-in refrigerator, reach-in refrigerator, cooler drawers, prep, and dry storage area.
  • Stocks/restocks items on line according to specifications.
  • Understands and complies with food safety and temperature standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Full-Service Restaurant Kitchen Experience is desired.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knife skills
  • Organizational skills-Ability to be organized in a changing environment.
  • Ability to maintain a calm professional demeanor during periods of uncertainty or crisis.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Stands during entire shift.
  • Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, shakes, pours, carries, and pushes.
  • Lifts and carries tubs, trays, and cases weighing up to 50 lbs

AVAILABILITY Candidates must be available Wednesday through Sunday nights

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $10.50/hr with potentil increase after 30 day review

Required experience: At least 1 year cook experience
