About this job

The HVAC Technician (Multicrafted Maintenance Associate) ensures that all administration and plant HVAC equipment and processes are performing to design parameters and meeting operational and production needs while meeting Safety, Cost and Quality goals.

Responsibilities:

1) Perform professional mechanical repairs on all HVAC processes and equipment.
2) Troubleshoot all HVAC equipment malfunctions.
3) Perform quality Preventative Maintenance on all HVAC equipment and processes.
4) Record daily logs of equipment failures, repairs, regulatory compliances, and other activities.
5) Communicate any known wear parts to be inventoried.
6) Perform other electrical / mechanical repair or preventative maintenance duties as assigned by management.
7) Ensure all electrical / mechanical safeguards of plant equipment are installed as required to conform to all regulations – company, state and federal.
8) For safety and business purposes, must have good communication skills including; verbal, written and presentational with the ability to communicate with peers, managers and associates on all levels.
9) Must be punctual, professional and follow all safety policies and procedures on the job.

Job Skills:

1) Demonstrated knowledge of technical mechanical principles and the application of mathematics and dimensions as related to the plant process, utility and compressed air systems.
2) Proficient in the following:

  • Preventative Maintenance and building checks.
  • Industrial refrigeration, refrigerant handling, refrigerant systems clean up.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of advanced controls; electric, pneumatics, DDS.
  • Pump and Compressor troubleshooting and repair.
  • HVAC system design; building air balancing; zone and control job estimating.
  • Experience with cooling towers and chilled water systems and treatments (1-300 Ton).
  • Advanced sheet-metal and rigging, along with piping (gas and water).



Requirements:

1) Must have current certification with EPA 608 Universal
2) Associate degree OR equivalent work experience.
3) Prior experience performing technical maintenance of various pumps; heat exchangers; compressors, cooling tower, water treatment and cooling systems.
