About this job
A Dishwasher is responsible for tasks of cleaning of all dishes, silverware, glassware, utensils, and pots/pans as well as the support of other areas of the BOH. This position requires a sense of urgency and adaptability. S/he represents Miller’s Ale House Restaurant by providing service that exhibits professionalism, attention to detail, and the desire to create a positive environment. S/he will also work directly with other team members to ensure that all guests’ visits exceed their expectations.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Arrives to work on time as scheduled in full uniform
•Adheres to all service standards to indirectly create “Ale House Raving Fans”
•Fulfills all job responsibilities in order to contribute to a “one great shift” operation
•Work directly with both BOH and FOH team members to ensure all needs are fulfilled in a timely manner
•Proper food handling and sanitation of work areas; ensures compliance with food handling requirements
•Collects bus tubs and dirty dishes from FOH and BOH areas
•Ensure a supply of clean and ready dish supplies for line cooks, servers, and bartenders
•Re-stock areas aimed at easy access for other staff members
•Supports cooks as needed, occasionally being assigned a station
•Communicate with fellow team members and management to keep one another informed
•Maintain neat and organized work areas; to include sweeping and mopping as needed
•Accomplishes all running and end of shift side work; including ensuring work areas are stocked and ready for the next scheduled Dishwasher to take over
•Notifies management immediately of any potential problem
Required Skills & Education
•Desire to provide exceptional service throughout the entire shift
•Strong communication skills and the ability to work alone as well as with a team
•Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
•Must be able to handle high stress situations
•Team Members must be 18 years of age at the time of hire
Physical Demands
The Dishwasher is expected to be able to perform the job functions with reasonable accommodation. Physical demands include:
•Remaining standing for extended periods of time
•Bending, squatting, and lifting, up to 30 lbs., for short distances
•Frequent communication with Managers and Team Members. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
