Oakland Stamping  has exciting opportunities available for experienced Maintenance Machine Repair Technicians on our 2nd shift. We offer stable employment, competitive wages, and a great benefits package!

Experienced candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions
  • Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems
  • Removes and replaces worn parts
  • Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches
  • Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe
  • Starts machine and equipment to test operation following repair
  • Repairs broken parts
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other personnel from other affected departments including production, maintenance, and tool room to diagnose malfunction
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches and motors and positions sensing devices
  • Assists Engineer to modify sketches or computer generated designs of machine components such as hydraulic system and drive mechanism
  • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to OSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)
  • Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors
  • Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
  • Able and willing to work any shift assigned
  • Participates in continuous improvement as directed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in stamping and welded assembly environment
  • Valid Driver’s License
