The company has grown rapidly nearly tripling in size over the last five years and is projecting continued growth moving forward. This position works from the Newton Corporate Office and reports to the Comp & Payroll Manager.

POSITION SUMMARY: This position ensures the accurate input and processing of payroll duties, generate required reports for management, and handle employee inquiries regarding payroll issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data using UltiPro software to produce accurate and timely payroll.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.

• Prepare and process weekly and bi-weekly payrolls.

• Print paychecks and sort by store/department.

• Solves problems concerning payroll, answers inquiries, and enforces payroll policies.

• Handles payroll deductions and wage garnishment.

• Assists in development of overall payroll procedures by recommending improvements or changes when deemed necessary for greater efficiency.

• Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year end reports such as labor percentages, terminations, gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, and other reports deemed necessary by management.

• Process paycheck adjustments after reconciling discrepancy and post adjustment in payroll system

• Perform various journal entries, account reconciliation, and provides General Ledger support.

• Performs other duties related to administrative responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Multi-State Payroll Experience

• In-House Payroll

• Excellent Time Management

• Proficient computer skills with experience in MS Office Applications including Outlook, Word, Excel

• Excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects at the same time

• Strong attention to detail (required)

• Ability to handle working with sensitive /confidential information

• Ability to create effective cross-functional working relationships with others on-site, at Service Centers, regional offices

• Customer Focus

• Problem solving/creativity Education and Experience Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent

• 2 years of experience in payroll

• UltiPro experience is preferred

• Reliable Transportation

ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• 90% of work in a climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may incidentally be required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.

• Some weekend work may be required.
