About this job

The Department Service Office (DSO) is a section under the Department Executive Committee (DEC) and is administered through the Department Adjutant.  This position works at the direction of the Department Service Officer to provide administrative support to the Service Office.  Duties include but not limited to answering phones, scheduling appointments, receiving and sending mail, filling documents, work in computer programs, and provided advise and information to veterans pertaining to benefits and entitlement enacted by Title 38 US Codes, Title 38 CFR's.  The American Legion Service Office complies with the American Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1994.  The area of operation is the State of Colorado.  Also will be required to assist the Headquarters staff during Mid-Year and Annual State Conferences.  Must pass VA Background check.
