ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide technical expertise to improve and optimize manufacturing operations and processes at a plant level. Active leadership role in initiating process improvements in quality, productivity, troubleshooting, cost reduction, and operator engagement.

 

  • Troubleshoot production and process problems; communicates with management, quality, and product engineering regarding run problems, investigates root causes and recommends and helps implement corrective actions. Integrating new technology or new practices into existing processes.
  • Train employees on new equipment installations, modifications, and new operating procedures.
  • Design processes and equipment related to the creation of products or services that are cost effective.
  • Implementing process designs, creating prototypes, testing, making necessary modifications where required and commissioning the process.
  • Assessing safety requirements and ensuring that these are integrated into the process.
  • Ensuring all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations.
  • Responsible for providing leadership and motivation to the Weld Cell Department.
  • Responsible for effective implementation of company strategies which include: training, employee development, performance, safety communication and quality assurance in the Weld Cell Department for all shifts.
  • Organization of the Robotic Weld Cell maintenance, repairing and maintaining the machines and inventory of replacement / wear parts. Weekly / Monthly / Annual maintenance program along with knowledge of servicing, repairing, calibrating, fine-tuning or testing the machines as needed. Maintain a call log; knowing who/when to call for maintenance as needed.
  • Knowledge of programing the Robotic Weld Cell machines both offline and on the plant floor utilizing Weldpro software.
  • Maintain an up to date program library of all programs
  • Develop tooling for Weld Cell Department, to ensure proper operation of the machines. 
  • Maintain a production schedule of the Robotic Weld Cell
  • Observe & enforce all safety policies and procedures in compliance with the company rules, while seeking continuous improvement. Responsible for his/her safety as well as that of his/her employees by maintaining a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
  • Assist and provide feedback during quoting process

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Solidworks
  • Bachelor degree in a related field.
  • Experience in metal fabrication preferred
  • Experience with PPAP's a plus
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Must be a strong leader and detail oriented
  • Proven working experience in process engineering
  • Capable of working in a team environment
  • Excellent technical skills
  • Knowledge of process elated standards
  • Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
