A large nationally-known research organization, Abt Associates, is looking for detail-oriented General Office Clerks in Cambridge, MA who can learn quickly to perform the following tasks within a social policy research environment.

As a General Office Clerk, you will employ good clerical skills in completing tasks such as:

  • Document control and maintenance of respondent confidentiality
  • Outgoing mail-out preparation including collation and manual stuffing
  • Other clerical duties as assigned

Summary:

This role is very basic in that it largely consists of labeling and placing the corresponding paperwork into the correct envelope for mail out.  The schedule depends upon the availability of work on a given day.  We ask that you be available between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday.  You will report on to work as instructed when given a specific day and time.

At times you may be instructed to call in beforehand to verify whether work is available or not and whether you are to report that day.  There may be days when you do work at all, and yet on other days, you may be required to work a full shift.  Your schedule will ultimately be determined by the availability of work on a given day.

This work requires meticulous attention to detail and a minimum level of efficiency.  There are two different pay scales, depending upon the project worked.  One is SCA and the other is not.  The minimum pay rate for the non-SCA project is $12.00/hour and the maximum for the SCA project is $14.66/hour (base rate)  plus an additional $4.02 for the Health and Welfare benefit.  You may work on one or even both projects in a single day and will be instructed upon how to accurately record your time.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word

Additional Information:

  • Flexible daytime hours
  • Duration of project is estimated to be 2 to 3+ months
  • This is a part-time position of 20-30 hours per week, depending on candidate and work availability
