POSITION PURPOSE
The Test Engineer will be responsible for developing and documenting testing of finished consumer goods in a laboratory environment. They will work with the Product Engineers to determine the testing applicable for a product and develop work instructions so that the Technicians can test the product in a consistent manor. The Test Engineer will need to be mechanically inclined and help develop, set-up, maintain and operate tests and test equipment to ensure a consistent and quality output of data that can then be summarized into a test report. They will need to be able to review, develop and clearly communicate both external and internal standards to other technicians and Engineers. They will also review and interpret data to write final reports.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
35%-Review and interpret test data to produce test reports.
25%-Develop and/or set up test rigs and documenting test procedures based off of both internal and industry standards.
20%-Write product requirements for finished consumer goods testing.
10%-Provide testing expertise guidance and insights to customers of the laboratory.
10%-Complete finished consumer goods product tests.

NATURE AND SCOPE
This position reports to Laboratory Manager.
This position has no direct reports

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.

Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3 years

Physical Requirements:
Most all of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Torsion, Tensile, Compression, Environmental and Life testing equipment.
Experience working with ISTA testing a plus.
Experience with LabVIEW and Solidworks.
Experience with fabrication of metal or machinist work.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:Experience working in a manufacturing or third party testing company environment.
Proficient in the use of hand and measurement tools such as caliper, micrometer and scales.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
Able to produce professional and clear reports.
Ability to analyze and resolve technical problems of a moderate complexity quickly and independently.
