Summary of Position:

The Back of the House Cook is responsible to prep and cook all foods served in a fast-paced kitchen.  Ability to maintain order, provide high quality food quickly.  

Essential Duties:

  1. Prepares and cooks food according to Smashburger prep, menu and recipe standards.
  2. Cleans food preparation equipment and work area.
  3. Adheres to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  4. Responds appropriately to guest concerns and communicates guest requests to management.
  5. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, floors, counter and restrooms at all times.
  6. Checks orders for accuracy and portion control.
  7. Delivers food to the guest when necessary
  8. Answer phones according to standards.
  9. Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by any managerCook and prep food in a fast-paced kitchen
  10. Maintains high food quality and attractive food appearance, made according to Smashburger product specifications, to meet sales and cost control objectives.
  11. Prepares food in a safe and efficient manner
  12. Clean and maintain kitchen appliances such as, but not limited to griddles and deep fryers
  13. Work in cooperation with other Smashburger Team Members

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules
  • Make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
  • Quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble food items
  • Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
  • Ability to read, count, write, and follow directions

 

Requirements:

  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of food and supplies which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Conduct:

Represents Mohegan Restaurant (SM), LLC in a professional and courteous manner at all times

 

Dependability:

Regularly attends and is punctual for work

 

Supervision Received:

  • This position reports to the Shift Leader, Assistant Manager, or General Manager of the individual store location.

 

Supervision Exercised:

None

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a team-focused environment

Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of prior work experience with griddles as well as food prep.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs
  • Ability to work with a flexible schedule
