A successful SATCOM Technician will have the following:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred and 4 or more years of earth station systems experience; or equivalent combination of higher education and experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have Permanent Resident status.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts to support 24x7x365 environment according to the needs of the business.  Shifts are 0700-1500, 1500-2300 or 2300-0700.
  • Ability to communicate via short wave radio, respond to audible alerts, climb to heights of 39 feet and lift 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • System level and bench level electronics troubleshooting experience.
  • Operational configuration awareness and routine preventative maintenance skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, assemble wave guide systems, efficiently utilize sophisticated test equipment, perform documentation tasks, and successfully interact with management & engineers.
  • Experience with stationary SATCOM.

This team is comprised of experienced professionals dedicated to providing customers with an unparalleled level of service delivering content and programming to over 16 million subscribers every day.

 

DISH is seeking a Senior SATCOM Technician to support the RF equipment at our large scale 24X7 satellite operations center in Monee, IL. 

 

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

 

  • Fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of the radio-frequency (RF) equipment used in large-scale satellite downlink and uplink operations; such as waveguide assemblies, cables, and fiber-optic systems.
  • Perform component-level troubleshooting required on High-Power Amplifiers (HPA), fiber-optic systems, up converters, down converters, RF switching units, Antenna Control Units (ACUs), Low-Noise Amplifiers (LNAs) and Low-Noise Block Down converters (LNBs), and switching and/or monitoring audio/video equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and repair on large transmit/receive and receive-only satellite antenna systems.
  • Provide sketches of drawings required for equipment installation.
