Job Description:

The Public Safety Officer is responsible for overseeing 24-hour building security at Honda Center on event and non-event days.

Examples of Duties/Essential Functions:

  • Assist building employees and guests as necessary
  • Responsible for report taking and getting reports to the Security Manager for review
  • Monitor security video camera surveillance in Service Level Control Room.
  • Respond to fire alarms and work with Building Engineering for any necessary follow up regarding alarm activity
  • Oversee 24-hour building phone calls
  • Conduct foot patrol of assigned areas to ensure secure environment. Observe surroundings and take appropriate measures to eliminate security and safety concerns

Qualification Standards:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Works well with others; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with fellow workers and supervisors
  • Work well under pressure; ability to think clearly in emergencies, giving accurate instructions and information to others
  • Must present clean, neat professional appearance at all times
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, swing shifts and graveyard shifts
