This position will be located at Target Field, the Minnesota Twins stadium in Minneapolis, MN, home to the MLB American League Minnesota Twins. Sportservice currently has the full service contract for this 40,000+-seat state of the art facility, which includes concessions, premium services, catering and retail. 

The Opportunity

 

Position Summary

Assists management in carrying out daily operations of commissary/warehouse department, in accordance with the Company’s applicable Operational Standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises commissary personnel, including assigning duties, training, coaching and counseling; reports any associate problems to manager
  • Ensures proper stock of beer, soda, food and other products are in their appropriate locations
  • Maintains daily awareness of product needs; determines quantities required to adequately stock commissary.
  • Oversees inventory control, including receiving shipments, disposing outdated material, cycle counting.
  • Maintains safety, security and cleanliness of storage areas, passageways, elevators and work areas.
  • Oversees and/or sets up machines and equipment for commissary
  • Oversees the proper closing of assigned area.
  • Enforces company policies and safety regulations.
  • Initiates and organizes procedures to set standards for the warehouse.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Non-essential Functions:

  • Assists management in ordering supplies
  • Assists management in interviewing and selection of candidates for commissary positions.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 6 months- 1 year prior warehouse, food and beverage commissary or related experience required.
  • Previous experience with Excel or similar database management computer system required
  • High school education or GED required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Must be dependable and a self-starter; ability to work independently
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to delegate and coach others
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to communicate job procedures and give clear concise instructions
  • Ability to read and interpret deliveries and purchases
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to follow job procedures and manager instructions

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/move/maneuver up to 165 lbs.
  • Ability to pull heavy carts of stock throughout facility
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting and reaching, during entire length of shift

Environmental Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse environment, noise level may be moderate to high
  • Exposed to outdoors and variable temperatures, including extreme hot and cold depending on the season
  • Exposed to fumes from delivery trucks and other equipment
