Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) preceptor and in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with implementing and monitoring patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Assists with coordinating all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Assists with noting and carrying out physician and nursing orders within scope of authorized practice.
- Assists with assessing and coordinating patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
- Required Credential(s):
- Certified BLS Provider specializing in Health Service Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Or military CPR-First Aid training.
- Certified Nurse Aide credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education & Experience:
- Enrolled
- Required: Must be enrolled as a full time nursing student in a registered nurse degree program Must have completed nursing fundamentals course and passed first clinical semester
- HS or Equivalent
- Required: HS Diploma or GED
- Required: No experience at date of hire. Preferred: Previous experience as a CNA at date of hire.
- Required: No experience. Preferred: Previous experience as a CNA.
