Collections/Reimbursement Specialist

Candidates must have:
- Prior experience within medical collections, medical billing, claims processing, claims reviewing, medical collections
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, PDF files, attachments, etc.
- Tenured work history in the health care field

Main job duties include:
- Sort claims and make collections to those claims
- All payment collections is through the insurance companies and those payers have contracts with the company
- Document all collections made on the claim
- When working on claims, could receive partial payment and need to set-up a secondary claim or bill to finish the payment
- Call insurance companies to collect payments, re bill, check addresses, ensure billing information is correct, and find out what needs to be done
- Resolve errors that need to be fixed to help get the payment collected
- Put in requests for adjustments and handle write offs
- Be familiar with ICD diagnostic codes, CPT codes, and HCPCS codes
