This position has responsibility for oversight of the Behavioral Health Care Advocate team which is field based for Optum in Rhode Island.
Primary Responsibilities: 


Manages and is accountable for clinical behavioral health professional employees and / or supervisors

Sets team direction, resolves problems and provides guidance to members of own team 

Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges

Influences or provides input to forecasting and planning activities

Monitors, manages and controls operational and performance metrics in conjunction with established program value targets

Develops solutions to address new, often complex customer requirements that address operational, clinical and customer needs 

Ensures audits are conducted, standards are met, successful outcome are achieved

Reviews operational and performance metrics regularly and partners with direct supervisor in driving action plan development and execution

Collaborates across the organization including with Medical, Site Directors, senior leaders and other stakeholders

Participate in monthly meetings

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


Licensed Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage or Family Counseling, or Licensed Ph.D., or an RN with 2 or more years of experience in behavioral health

2 years post-Masters experience in a related mental health environment

2 to 3 years of people management experience

Clinical Licensure must be active, current, and unrestricted for the State of Rhode Island

Proficient Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Access to high speed internet for home office set up and a dedicated work space at home

Access to reliable transportation that will enable you to travel to client and/or patient sites within a designated area

Ability to adapt well to an ever-changing and dynamic work environment

Experience working with a variety of populations within the community
Preferred Qualifications:

CCM (Certified Case Manager) is preferred, if you don't possess this certification you must obtain within your first 2 years of employment
Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse

Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients

Experience working with Medicaid and low - income populations

Case Management experience

Managed Care experience

Field based experience

Ability to coach, develop and mentor a team that is field-based
