We have a part-time opening for a Part-Time Finance Account Clerk/Receptionist.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

  • Must have 1 or more years experience.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Background check required.

Job Duties

Essential Functions:

  • Answers incoming calls for the Village Hall.  Greets, refers, directs and informs callers. Refers callers to appropriate personnel.
  • Assists Village Hall visitors. Provides general information.  Receives payments for various Village services, such as water bills, vehicle stickers, animal licenses, parking permits and more. Refers visitors to appropriate personnel.
  • Collects, counts and reconciles money received from cash receivables and bonds on a daily basis. Process information into various accounting software on the computer.
  • Applies payments to tickets issued by the Police Department.
  • Sells permits and manages permitted parking lots.
  • Manages food and beverage collections.
  • Maintains various Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Completes and mails out inter-office memoranda and certified mailings.
  • Performs data entry into various Finance Department databases.
  • Responds to requests for Finance Department records following established policies and procedures.
  • Prepares reports as required.
  • Performs routine office duties such as typing, copying and filing.
  • Operates all tools and equipment needed to perform job duties while adhering to all safety rules and practices.

The work environment generally includes an office setting.  The noise level is usually quiet.

 

 

Job Requirements

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear.  Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  May lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The position requires prolonged periods of concentration. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and ability to adjust focus.  Equipment used includes, but is not limited to, personal computer with a Windows operating system, Microsoft Office suite, printer, copy machine, fax machine and calculator.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Frequent contact with Village Hall visitors, other Village employees; must be able to communicate verbally and demonstrate good customer relations.
  • A quick learned with efficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Prepares reports as required.  Must be able to communicate in writing
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to count money and reconcile payments received on a daily basis.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and filing systems.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment, especially a calculator.
  • Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with Village personnel and the public.
  • Ability to assist public in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn, understand and adhere to all applicable safety precautions and procedures.

Position Requirements

  • Education equivalent to a high school diploma required.  One year experience in a similar position is required.  Previous customer service experience is preferred.
  • Intermediate computer software skills required.  Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
