Summary:
Prepares detailed mechanical and electrical CAD drawings from conceptual ideas, notes, verbal instructions and sketches for engineering, manufacturing, and customer use.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform 3D and 2D product design/ drafting using PTC CREO, PTC Schematics, AutoCAD
Creates all related assembly/ detail drawing and Bill of Material.
Thorough knowledge of drafting standards, practices, and procedures with a working knowledge of geometric dimensioning & tolerances
Utilizes existing filing system for all engineering and product design/ drawings.
Brings forth creativity for product designs that will add marketable value to the company's products
Uses excellent discretion in handling confidential and/or sensitive information
Provides technical data, drawings, prototypes and/or other technical requirements for sales and marketing presentations and utilizes the appropriate software applications
Other Duties
The Quality Policy states the highest degree of commitment to satisfy customer requirements. Quality is each employee's responsibility. Employees must be focused on continuous quality improvement for products and services.
Responsible for a safe work environment. Must inspect work area of responsibility on a continual basis and take appropriate steps to rectify any hazards.

A minimum of a two (2) or four (4) year degree in CAD Design/Drafting, although comparable work experience and/or a degree in progress may be considered.
Knowledge of wiring systems, diesel engines, and their monitoring/control systems is highly desirable. Previous wire harness design experience in the automotive industry would be a plus.
Able to interpret electrical schematics and detailed mechanical drawings
Must be proficient with computer-aided design systems, specifically Pro/Engineer. Other CAD application proficiency would be a plus.
