The Restaurant Coach exemplifies Cafe Rio’s culture and values: We Lead with Integrity, It’s All about the Food, and deliver our one of a kind Food with Energy. Our Restaurant Coaches are responsible for building high performing teams by coaching, training and developing managers to be great leaders, operators and coaches. They oversee all aspects of recruiting, training, management, fiscal compliance, and overall operations of approximately 2-3 restaurants to ensure high quality food, food safety, service excellence, cleanliness, and maximum profitability. The Restaurant Coach reports to an Area Coach.

Percentage of Time Spent:

* 40% Operations Coaching/Support, Action Planning & Company Compliance

* 25% People Development & Training Effectiveness

* 20% Participating/Leading Market Meetings, including Orientation

* 15% Administrative Duties

Requirements

Job Requirements
* At least 2 years of service as a Cafe Rio General Manager with a minimum of 4 years of experience working in the restaurant industry

* High School Diploma or GED preferred; or commensurate combination of education and work experience

* Selected to participate in the Leadership Excellence & Accelerated Development Program (LEAD), or successfully completed LEAD

* Passionate about food, service and people

* Possesses the ability to make the people around them even more effective - creates a culture that appeals to high performers, where everyone is empowered to hold themselves and each other accountable to high standards

* Understands their success is ultimately dependent on that of their teams

* Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Outlook, Word, and some Excel

* Demonstrates high attention to detail and focused on getting the job done

* Possesses strong organizational skills and can effectively prioritize needs (solid multitasker)

* Thrives in a fast paced, high pressure environment

* Demonstrates strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills; able to easily interact with diverse employees, bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

* Available to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays, as well as work weeks that may at times exceed 40 hours

* Able to lift and carry at least 60 lbs

* Able to stand for 8 plus hours

* Proof of valid driver's license

* Must be 18 years of age or older

* Works shoulder-to shoulder with employees; provides training, coaching and frequent feedback; and on occasion may work non-management roles when staffing constraints require

* Accountable for all aspects of performance and serves as ultimate decision-maker for their restaurants

* Assumes responsibility for cash assets and P&L performance for units managed

* Frequently engages in clear, consistent communications with peers and restaurant teams

* Leads weekly market meetings to discuss results, operational procedures and upcoming restaurant promotions, safety & security, and workforce planning (staffing, training, development and succession)

* Performs talent management duties, including but not limited recruiting, onboarding/orientation, training and coaching, development, succession, and performance management

* Demonstrates respect for individual employees and shows appreciation for their efforts and contributions

* Readily identifies high potential managers and successfully develops them for increasingly challenging roles within the organization

* Directs workforce planning efforts for all units managed

* Partners with other business units and supervisors to investigate and resolve customer and employee concerns/feedback

* Ensures compliance with all Company policies and procedures (people, operations, safety, assets, cash, etc.)
