This is a great opportunity for a Certified Nursing Assistant who is interested in working in a critical access hospital MedSurg unit.
About Banner Platte County Inpatient Unit:
* We are a 25 bed hospital.
* Average daily census allows for nurse patient ratios between 3-4:1
* The unit provides care for patients across the lifespan from newborns to geriatrics as well as labor and delivery patients.
* The RNs have a great opportunity to be and will be trained in several areas including medsurg, pediatrics, telemetry, postpartum, labor and delivery and newborn care.
* We offer ongoing education with a personalized orientation plan.
* Staff are committed to delivering professional, compassionate care at all touch points throughout a well- coordinated stay in the inpatient unit.
The nurses are involved in Shared Leadership to lead change and process improvements to implement evidenced based practices to support and improve the highest quality of patient outcomes

Job Summary
This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical record; provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
Essential Functions
Provides assistance in activities of daily living and completes necessary tasks to promote patient health, including assisting patients with basic hygiene needs, maintaining an optimum level of mobility and assisting patients with nutritional intake, as needed.
Collects patient specimens and data, including vital signs, input/output and other delegated measurements in accordance with unit/facility policy and standards of care. Documents objective data and routine aspects of patient care. Assists in the transportation of patient specimens.
Recognizes and reports abnormalities and/or changes in the patients health status and responses to treatment to a licensed professional. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for which care is provided.
Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, consistent with demonstrated competencies and state scope of practice; procedures may include blood draws, foley catheter removal, EKGs, and EKG monitoring. Provides necessary supplies, support and assistance to medical staff and patients for unit specific procedures, under the direct supervision of a licensed professional.
Maintains a clean, orderly and well-stocked environment.
May provide general support to the department, including greeting and assisting patients, visitors, physicians, and ancillary personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Current BLS certification. In Arizona: Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) in state of practice is required for new hires and transfers. All incumbents must obtain either the CNA or LNA by 12/31/16 (currently excludes Tucson). All existing incumbents must also obtain the LNA by the earliest of either their renewal date or 12/31/18 (includes an extended deadline to 12/31/19 for Tucson only). Outside of Arizona: Current Certified Nursing Assistant in state of practice is required.
Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as effective human relations and communication skills. Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy and keyboarding skills is required.
Depending on department assignment, receive a minimum passing score of 85% on ECG or EEG test with accurate identification of all lethal cardiac dysrhythmias and epileptiform activity is required. Successful completion of either a unit approved basic electrocardiogram interpretation course or electroencephalographic interpretation course, or on the job training is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
Recent healthcare experience preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
