PURPOSE: Exemplifies strong customer service in every aspect of the job. Supervises and participates in all Night Crew activities. Maintains and replenishes stock in a safe and efficient manner to meet customer purchasing needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Directs and supervises night crew and night crew activities, including training personnel, in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Stages pallets/u-boats of product from the back room to the sales floor in preparation for stocking. Maintains the quality condition of all products; stocks, rotates, blocks and faces product in an efficient and proper manner; and discards outdated product in compliance with code date procedures. Maintains orderly and in-stock conditions in all grocery department areas. Controls shrink and damage of products. Cleans and dusts shelves.
• Assists in ordering, receiving, organizing, storing, stocking, inventory control, building displays and operating related equipment such as hand trucks, bailer and pallet jacks. Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Prepares and displays appropriate product signage.
• Ensures cost, quality and inventory control by auditing contents of product cases and completing necessary forms and reports accurately.
• Implements Division operating and merchandising policies and practices.
• Reports performance of Night Crew staff to Grocery Manager or Store Director. Reports on night crew activities to Grocery Manager. Reports associate and customer complaints to the Grocery Manager or Store Director.
• Maintains store security at all times. Implements emergency procedures in compliance with Company policy.
• Utilizes computer software and other electronic equipment.
• Complies with and ensures compliance with Associate Purchase Policy.
• Handles positive customer and vendor relations.
• Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity and in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be friendly, courteous, tactful and maintain composure in dealing with co-workers, vendors and customers. Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
• Must frequently reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 50 lbs., within the range of floor level to overhead. Must push and pull fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks.
• Must stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Bends, stoops, and reaches frequently and occasionally climbs ladders.
• Mental alertness is required to ensure safe, accurate completion of work activities and to do repetitious work accurately.
• Requires knowledge of basic math, must learn inventory control, merchandising, product storage, and shipping and receiving procedures.
• Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination required.
• Knowledge of computer software and related electronic equipment.
• Must implement emergency procedures in the event of equipment and computer and other electronic malfunctions.
• Utilizes cleaning supplies and safety cutters. Scheduled shift is overnight. May be required to work weekends and holidays. Scheduled hours will vary. Good attendance is required.
• Must comply with appropriate grooming and dress code standards.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Working conditions consist of a temperature controlled store environment. Exposure to temperatures of approximately -20° Fahrenheit, 28° Fahrenheit, and 35° Fahrenheit, while handling products in freezers, coolers and display cases. Occasional exposure to outdoor environment with varying temperatures.
