Position Summary:

The Maintenance Associate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the building and grounds of the distribution center. The Maintenance Associate must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning and disposing or moving of objects/materials. Work is performed under general supervision. Work assignments are received through oral requests and by written memoranda.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be able to become certified to operate: power sweeper, scrubber, forklift and clamp truck.
• Sweep, scrub and mop warehouse floors using power sweeper and scrubber.
• Empty trash receptacles and pick up cardboard and plastic and bale items in order to reduce waste volume to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Also associate will operate a forklift to load the bales into a trailer to be recycled.
• Clean up various types of spills and disposes of wastes while adhering to company procedures.
• Detail all corners, railings, walkways and any hard to reach areas throughout the Distribution Center.
• Some painting of walls as required by the supervisor or manager.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Previous experience in warehouse maintenance/housekeeping

Physical Requirements:

Ability to walk, sit, push, pull and move continuously during work hours and able to lift up to 70 lbs.

Travel as required.
