About This Opportunity
Role is strong individual contributor with identified areas of expertise and responsible for drafting, finishing and presenting their own work product to peers and leaders involved with subject matter content. Role concentrates on specific elements of the risk lifecycle and must both execute the work product and develop appropriate maturity and evolution plans in accordance with the risk framework. Role will engage with internal R&C partners and cross-functional partners across the company, including subject matter leaders (VP+). Role must have exceptional communication skills and comfort in presenting their own work.

  • Lead and support day to day issue management across the organization
  • Regularly communicate with senior leaders (VPs and above) and teams on critical reputational risks and response. Strong communications capabilities- written, verbal command of room & situation
  • Develop and aggregate risk insights reporting related to issues management, including the weekly risk insights report and material for the LT Reputation & Risk group
  • Participate in risk event activations around issues management and Reputation & Risk (e.g., inclusive merch cft)
  • Support the implementation, facilitation and maturation of an enterprise risk framework to escalate issues, incidents, and crises throughout Target, including external perspectives
  • Lead and support business engagement with a wide set of internal stakeholders and leaders, including the risk governance groups
  • Work collaboratively with the affected Target business units in anticipating, preparing for, responding to, and then recovering from previously uncertain risks that have since materialized into issues, incidents, or crises
  • Help execute consistent decision-making and criteria for issues response, metrics and reporting on issues and tracking, and aggregate and analyze risk issues data/trends
  • Assist in the coordination of logistics for responding to an issue, incident, or crisis, including the convening of participants, creation of information to be shared, providing appropriate real-time updates; and other related task
  • When issues, incidents, or crises unfold, participate in virtual "teams" spanning different functions and business units with crisis management responsibilities to help coordinate the full cycle response
  • Manage full-cycle response to materialized issues and risk events, including response coordination and logistics, risk coverage, internal coordination with key stakeholders
  • Lead the execution of post-mortems of enterprise risk events / crisis, and develop and conduct follow-on training to internalize lessons learned
  • Support the consolidation of historical information on issues, incidents, and crises to identify common themes, trends, root causes, etc. Conduct in-depth analysis of this information and develop recommendations to help prepare for and respond to future adverse events in a consistent, effective, and efficient manner.
  • As part of an enterprise framework, ensure alignment of mechanisms to alert Target leaders when early warning signs indicate an issue, incident, or crisis is more likely to occur and contribute as appropriate
 
 
 
Requirements
  • Expertise in risk insights analysis (ability to translate into action items, spot triggers and trends)
  • Excellent written communication (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Ability to handle multiple issues at once and prioritize urgent versus important
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to develop and leverage strong partnerships in order to obtain feedback and insight, influence, negotiate, and accomplish work through others
  • 5-7 years' experience in risk management, intelligence or insights, issues management, reputation management with a proven track record of using data to drive decision making
  • Strategic thinking and ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • Strong strategic thinking skills to understand and anticipate the impact and opportunities across multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal capabilities; able to present, influence and lead at all levels of the organization
  • Strong cognitive skills including analytical, problem solving, organizational and conflict management skills
  • Proven project leadership and business acumen; solid track record of execution and results
  • Ability to synthesize complex findings to focus on critical issues and actionable opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multiple high priority concurrent projects
  • Proven leadership skills; ability to lead and inspire team members through coaching, mentoring, developing
  • Willingness to learn new systems
  • Exceptional PC skills - proficient in Microsoft suite of products. Exceptional Excel skills
