Baristas are responsible for maintaining the caf and providing exceptional customer service to all customers in a friendly and helpful manner. They should be knowledgeable about caf products and other merchandise in the store, proactively seek to assist customers, and provide an outstanding shopping experience. Core competencies include: interpersonal skills, self-management, and communication. Baristas report to the General Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Provide exceptional and prompt customer service.
* Craft Joe Muggs beverages according to quality standards outlined in the caf communication binder.
* Maintain visual merchandising guidelines for all caf related merchandise.
* Achieve 'Limited time' offer goals, Millionaires Club membership, comparative sales, Magazines for Millionaires, and the level of customer service in the caf and bookstore.
* Clean caf equipment, floors, utensils, and counters. Recover the caf area during each shift, including, but not limited to picking up items, shelving product and books, and other cafe housekeeping tasks as required.
* Adhere to all loss prevention standards and acting with integrity in all transactions.
* Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to assisting in other departments and small fixture assembly and maintenance.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Previous retail sales experience preferred
Preferred Skills
* Computer skills and cash register skills
Physical and Environmental Requirements
* Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
* Must be able to use hands/arms to operate coffee brewer & grinder, commercial microwave oven, keyboard, telephone and for repetitive motion activities.
* Must be able to team lift objects up to 50 lbs.; 25 lbs. without assistance.
* Must be able to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.
* Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop or squat while performing daily activities of the job.
