About this job

Automation is looking for a Dirt Technician in the Gaston, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, and Rowan counties that can identify, analyze, and monitor dirt and defects in paint. They also need to having the following skills:
Identify contamination, paint defects, and fiber defects
Expose defects using diagonal and horizontal cuts
Mount samples on microscope slides
Photograph defects successfully
Compile and use reference library
Contamination reduction recommendations
Prepare daily reports to management and weekly reports to contamination committee
Prepare special reports to team
Perform fiber ID using polarized light and root cause analysis
Use cause-and-effect (fishbone) chart
Knowledge of SOPs for facility cleaning, methods and materials used in plant, and computer basics, Microsoft Office.

This person needs to understand booth and system air balance basics
Electro coat paint application basics
Team s role in contamination reduction
Concept of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing and use of 5 phase problem solving
Paint theory, terminology basics, and complete paint process
The procedure for daily walk-through and paint department process flow
Function and role of contamination committee
Plant production and reject report, along with process flow of entire plant
Method of calculating daily audits
Requirements for Ready-to Paint jobs

Pay Rate $15. Shift hours 8am - 5pm Monday- Friday and some weekends.
