Weighmaster - Rice

Dryer / Scale House

• Open scale house by 7:00 am every day.
• Accurately weigh and record both loaded and empty trucks.
• Record such weights on the certified weight certificate.
• Handle all clerical duties including a variety of daily reports.
• Maintain truckers’ driver license log.
• Communications with drivers and customers will be friendly, polite, professional and courteous.
• Communicate with the dispatchers when trucks are off-schedule.
• Keep scale house and equipment in a clean and neat fashion
• Care for and maintain rice samples as needed.
• Empty rice sample buckets every day.
• Insure the probe is out of the truck before doing anything else, including allowing driver to move truck off the scale.
• Answer the phone between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm and make sure messages reach the correct party.
• Responsible for making sure all equipment is turned off, such as calculator, air conditioning, printer, lights, etc. and that security alarm is set.
• An ‘On-Duty’ meal period is necessary, due to the unpredictable nature of the trucks delivering rice.
• Any other duties that may be assigned by supervisor

Position: As needed during the year for shipping. Seasonal employment begins at the start of harvest, approximately September 1 st , though the end of harvest, approximately November1 st .

Hours/Harvest Hours: Weighmaster must begin work at 7AM. Truck receiving times are 7AM until 6:30 PM. Weighmaster must stay until final load is completed which may be past 8PM. Over-time as needed to complete final load.

Shipping Hours: Scale House normally opens at 7AM and closes at 3PM. Weighmaster must be ready to begin work at 7AM. Weighmaster must stay until final load is complete which may be after 3PM. Over-time as needed to complete final loads.
