About this job

* Actively manage the production operation to ensure production schedule and quality requirements are met, work with support functions (such as Supply Chain for material planning, technical support, etc.) to ensure production continuity.
* Assure the best use of resources to obtain a high level of productivity and continuous follow up to established metrics to monitor employee performance, efficiency, utilization and equipment downtime.
* Perform situations analysis, recommend and follow up on possible solutions to correct problems and avoid production disruption and scrap.
* Utilize lean tools to perform operations analysis and audits to assure a high level of productivity and efficiency in the areas.
* Keep product availability levels as specified by our Supply Chain groups.
* Identify quality issues related to operator's errors and establish systems to improve yield, reduce scrap, minimize rework and provide for re-training.
* Assure continuous follow up of established metrics to monitor employee and area performance in terms of quality.
* Coordinate and conduct frequent meetings with operators, coordinators, and engineers to discuss the problems or situations of the work areas assurance of the product quality.
* Responsible for maintaining a work environment focused on ethical/quality standards and free of any harassment or discrimination issues.
* Responsible to support and monitor employees to ensure adherence and compliance to company programs, processes, policies, procedures and department work rules related to quality, labor laws and safety including GMP, QSR, OSHA.
* Assures that the proper trainings are executed and documented as per policies and procedures.
* Recommend and follow-up on possible solutions to correct problems with products and processes.
* Responsible for timely execution and accuracy of manufacturing performance systems transactions (i.e. manufacturing reports, Traceability, PTO hours, timekeeping/payroll).
* Conduct performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and recommend salary increases in conjunction with Direct Supervisor, Area Manager.
* Assist manufacturing/engineering in lean initiatives to maximize product flow, area layout, non-value added activities and special projects for productivity improvement.
* Work and implement special projects and programs as assigned by Direct Supervisor or Department Manager.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or Business
    * 3 years of hands-on work experience in Manufacturing.
    * One year in supervisory or shift lead role
    * Medical device industry experience required.
    * Clean room experience required.
    * Experience with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
