JOB SUMMARY
Architect for the development and integration of test tools. Support the deployments of those tools throughout Charter. Support users of these tools. The tools are:
TMC (Test Measurement and Control) is a web based test automation system for testing Set Top Boxes, Roku, iOS and Android devices, using IR blaster, OCR, image compare and color compare in a ruby script. TMC runs on Windows and uses C#/.NET, Silverlight (converting to HTML) and Ruby.
SWORD (SIT Webified, Oracle Recording Database) is a test management system which also controls TMC devices. SWORD runs on Linux and is a Ruby on Rails application with an Oracle DB.
Test Workbench is a web based Test reporting Tool which runs on Linux and uses an Oracle DB.
HP ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) is an industry standard tool used for test management.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Architect for the internal development of TMC and SWORD. Architect for externally developed tools like Test Workbench. Support the use of a third party tool (HP ALM). Architect the integration of these tools. Train and support other Charter departments that use those tools.
Evaluate other test tools.
Socialize best practices to the company especially regarding: testing and test automation
Work with other internal organizations
Mentor and guide the work of senior technical staff
Technical oversight as related to projects and event management
Ability to evaluate potential candidates for other roles within team
Technical oversight for third party vendors
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Expertise
Architecture and design

Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly

Engineering experience 10-16 yrs
Previous project management experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant topic
