Overview

The Food Server is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer.  The Food server is also responsible for serving food and beverages in accordance to Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc.’s standards.

Responsibilities

(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

  • Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with external and internal guests and team members, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with team members.
  • Recognizes guess immediately with a friendly, courteous greeting and informs them of daily specials, soup of the day, etc. Also acts as a “walking information center“ by providing information on all aspects of Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc.’s services and facilities.
  • Assists guests with menu and beverage selection, demonstrating salesmanship with complete menu and product knowledge.
  • Notifies supervisor, manager, or line chef of any food products that are not properly prepared. 
  • Ensures guest satisfaction through food quality checks and responsiveness to guest complaints. 
  • Maintains a well-groomed, neat, and clean appearance, carrying out duties with attention to sanitation and safety. 
  • Anticipates, identifies, and provides for guest needs. 
  • Ability to transport trays and/or plates throughout the restaurant, which may weigh up to 50 pounds, as well as serve food items and beverages. 
  • Ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Ability to take orders, recite specials, and point specific items out on the menu to guests. 
  • Ability to stand throughout an eight-hour shift. 
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move throughout the restaurant and the kitchen area. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and all levels of team members. 
  • This position works in an environment that is subject to varying levels of smoke, crowds, and noise, the severity of which depends upon customer volume. 
  • To meet requirements of health department (General Sanitation).

Qualifications

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

  • Familiarity with food, beverage, and wine service.
  • Knowledge of table service procedures and table etiquette. 
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Stable work history required. 

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through one years’ food serving experience in a full service restaurant.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

  • Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers and gaming license within assigned state of employment and other jurisdictions
  • Must successfully pass background check
  • Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
