Job Description:

3M is seeking an IT Intern located in Maplewood, MN for summer 2018. Here, you go!

As an intern, you can grow through challenging work, get involved in meaningful projects and receive great coaching from our leaders.

An internship is a temporary position within 3M. Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 12-14 week assignment. This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year. 3M provides eligible interns with temporary housing and round-trip travel reimbursement in accordance with current policy.

Business Transformation & Information Technology at 3M:

Interns in Business Transformation & Information Technology address relevant business concerns through both individual and team-oriented projects. IT Analyst intern assignments can occur in any of the functional areas within our organization; interns will work on projects that represent real challenges faced by 3M and mirror the work of our full-time team members.

Job Summary:

IT Intern assignment areas include, but are not limited to:

* Applications. This group provides technology-enabled solutions for vital business processes across all 3M business units and corporate functions This group also delivers corporate solutions for HR, Finance, Legal and R&D as well as SAP ERP application support services. Positions are Technical Analysts and Functional Analysts.

* Infrastructure Services. The infrastructure group encompasses areas that select, implement and support hardware, system software, data, workstation and communications platforms needed across business solutions worldwide. Positions are primarily Technical Analysts, and we are looking for candidates interested in evaluating and deploying technologies, and scripting the automation of all infrastructure services, both on-premise and in the cloud.

* Quality Assurance and Architecture. This group drives continuous improvement and standardization to ensure releases to 3M's global ERP are high quality, compliant, and low risk. Positions include testing process ownership, development of automated test scripts, analysis and provisioning of security access, building and execution of cutover plans, and enhancement of Compliance and Controls.

* Information Security, Risk and Compliance. This global organization is committed to ensuring protection of 3M and our customers. It is our objective to safeguard our intellectual property that is essential for managing our business, maintaining competitive advantage, and complying with internal policies, standards and legal requirements. This organization includes the following teams: Security Assessments, Risk & Compliance. Security Architecture, Cyber-Security Incident and Investigations, Identity & Access Management, Business Continuity, and Security Technology Management.

* Reporting and Analytics. The Reporting and Analytics Center of Excellence drives a globally governed and coordinated business model for business intelligence to enable a single source of reporting. This team works with global process teams to build and deploy standardized global reporting.

* North American Manufacturing. This is a regional IT team that supports the processes and applications within 3M 's manufacturing sites across the United States and Canada. Positions are primarily business analysts looking for exposure to the business in a manufacturing setting, supporting sites virtually, and working on a cross-functional team.

* Digital Commerce Solutions. This area includes activation of all things digital to enrich customer engagement and experience. Roles within this group include developing and communicating standard project methodology and processes, reporting and tracking capabilities, supporting the global master deployment timeline, data analytics and measurement validation, support governance, PMO SharePoint administration, and assessing platform deployment and utilization metrics.

* Master Data Management. This area is focused on data analysis, data cleansing, and global data consistency and standardization in preparation for data flow into our global ERP system.

* Change Management & Training. Organizational Change Management (OCM) is focused on making sure that employees around the world have the knowledge and tools needed to embrace change and leverage the benefits of Business Transformation.

Basic Qualifications:

* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university

Preferred Qualifications:

* Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale

* Previous internship experience

* Previous experience working in Information Technology

* Excellent communication skills

Location: Maplewood, MN

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
