Job DescriptionPerform all functions related to daily operations of the Grocery department, including inventory control, maintenance of back room and floor, and assisting Team Leader in training and supporting Team Members. Provide excellent customer service at all times. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Perform all duties and responsibilities of Grocery Team Member. Provide excellent customer service, as outlined in the SW Excel manual. Assist Team Leader in analysis of sales, margins, and labor, and achieving targets. Assist in the hiring, development, leading, counseling, and termination of Team Members. Monitor inventory levels, and participate in monthly inventory process. Drive team productivity. Comply with all applicable health and safety codes. Help implement and support all regional programs. Build displays and request appropriate signage. Attend all team and store meetings. Act as Team Leader in their absence. Perform other duties, as assigned by Team Leader. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: Minimum two years retail Grocery experience, or equivalent. Analytical ability and proficiency in math needed to calculate margins, monitor profitability, and manage inventory. Comprehensive product knowledge. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to train others. Demonstrated decision-making ability, and leadership skills. Ability to perform physical requirements of position (see below). Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the store, including nights and weekends as required. Working conditions: Standing and walking for extended periods of time, up to 8-10 hours. Bending, stooping, climbing. Mental and physical dexterity. Unassisted heavy lifting. Work in varying temperatures (coolers, etc.) Use of box cutters. Use of electric pallet jacks or other heavy machinery. Mandatory use of required personal protective equipment. Use of ladders. Iteration of duties. Additional Responsibilities: Maintain a safe and sanitary department. Report all life safety and fire hazards to your Team Leader for correction. Comply with all occupational safety and health regulations. Report all accidents and injuries to your Team Leader or Store Leadership immediately.
