Home Instead Senior Care® is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGiversSM to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community. Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

All CAREGivers must be willing and able to provide the services listed below to any Home Instead Senior Care client.

• Companionship
• Meal Preparation
• Light Housekeeping/Laundry
• Medication Reminders
• Walking/Standing Assistance
• Dressing/Bathing Assistance
• Toileting Assistance
• Running Errands/Transportation
• Other non-medical assistance as needed

Requirements during the hiring process:

• Auto
  • You must have a valid Indiana Driver's License, proof of insurance and a dependable, clean vehicle.
  • Copies of these documents will be made and kept on file if hired.
  • You must be 21 years old to provide transportation.
• References
  • We require that all applicants provide us with the following:
    • 2 personal references (NOT ALLOWED: relatives or significant others)
    • 2 professional references (past or present coworkers/supervisors)
    • We will contact each reference before offering a position.
• Background Checks
  • We perform criminal background checks.
  • We perform motor vehicle record checks.
  • We perform pre-employment and random drug screening.
• Attire
  • Our dress code is business casual. Clothing should be clean, appropriate and modest.
• Miscellaneous
  • You must pay for your own TB test and give the results to the office before Orientation.
  • If you are a smoker, you must be able to not smoke while on shift. We do not allow smoke breaks while working. Clothing should be well-aired and free of smoke odor before a shift.

We have two types of overnight shifts: resting nights and long nights.
A resting night shift could involve getting up to assist your client up to three times during the night and assisting your client with their evening and morning routines. While your client is sleeping, you are allowed to rest as well. You must be ready to assist your client if needed. This is our most common overnight shift.
A long night shift could involve getting up to assist your client four or more times during the night and assisting your clients with their evening and morning routines. While your client is sleeping, you are generally allowed to sleep as well. Some clients need help often throughout the night; some will need you to stay up all night with them.

Pay for nighttime hours ranges from $7.50-$10.50 per hour.
