Position Purpose:

The Environmental Services Technician maintains the grounds, community and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, policies and procedures.

Job Description Details:

General Responsibilities:

* Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions as outlined in established maintenance policies and procedures.

* Install shelving, makes adjustments and repairs on cabinets, repair and install cove base and handrails.

* Mount pictures, bulletin boards, perform curtain rod and cubicle track repairs, install, repair and/or replace floor tile.

* Perform repairs on community equipment and minor kitchen equipment and HVAC.

* Repair drains utilizing enzymes and electric equipment including auger and air operated clog remover. Repair faucets and other plumbing fixtures.

* Patches and repairs roofs.

* Painting and refinish of furniture and fixtures.

* Floor care including stripping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing and disinfecting, etc., daily.

* Calibrate thermostats and other minor pneumatic equipment and repairs.

* Repair and replace single-phase motors up to 120 volts. Repair and replace 120-volt switches ad receptacles.

* Operates and tests generator and performs preventive maintenance.

* Assures the grounds, community equipment is maintained in a clean, safe manner including perform routine servicing of grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent. Applicable trade school education preferred.

* Minimum 2 years experience as a healthcare mechanic and successful completion of MECH Senior Certified Mechanic Test preferred.

* Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, as well as various mechanical and electrical and plumbing systems.

* Able to read and interpret blueprints and knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.

* Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.

* Must possess superior communication and customer service skills and professionalism

* Self-starter, highly motivated with a high productivity level.
