The security officer is assigned to perform services as defined by the client contract between Admiral Security and the client. The security officer is not a police officer, and does not have any special powers of arrest. This position is an hourly position. Duties & Responsibilities:
Interacting, pursuant to the contract, with a variety of persons including clients, visitors, public safety officials, employees, and the general public.
Speak and read English, clearly and fluently.
Providing building and premises security to the client’s property.
Enforcing client and company policies and procedures.
Making patrols and security checks.
Providing effective gate, access and exit controls to ensure compliance with the client’s instituted badge control or pass control system. (if applicable)
Regulating and directing traffic, as necessary.
Responding to alarm signals.
Dealing with people in a respectful and courteous manner.
Being alert to observe, correct and report fire and safety hazards.
Promoting safety to prevent accidents.
Furthering employee-management relations, goodwill and public relations.
Making routine and special reports to supervisors.
Enforcing rules and policies that have been established by the client contract.
- Good vision and good hearing acuity (with glasses and hearing aids, if necessary).
- Ability to talk, see and hear.
- Physical exertion including, but not limited to, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting, walking and walking up and down stairs. Must be able to move and/or carry objects and materials. Must be able to lift and/or move objects and materials of various weights.
- Skill in use of computer screens and manual dexterity and skill in the use of a keyboard
- Valid Driver’s License
