Job DescriptionKelly Services has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer for a thriving manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will provide knowledge and hands-on expertise in the manufacturing industry. Duties and Responsibilities- Uses knowledge and experience in process analysis to develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, manufacturing methods and equipment, and soliciting input from all areas of production. - Provides direction to all phases of production to eliminate costly issues to allow more consistent production. - Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.- Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished- product and process capabilities, establishing standards, confirming manufacturing processes.- Establish requirements and execute approvals for new, existing or changed products. - Provides technical assistance to all areas of the company in resolving problems including customer complaint investigation and coordination of corrective action activities.- Work with customers and all departments to determine critical characteristics, quality requirements, specifications, and process controls to assure customer satisfaction including assembly of new elements necessary for internal and customer approval and establishing QA systems for new or changed products.- Facilitate improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.- Assist in the establishment, introduction, and ongoing maintenance of quality systems and procedures.- Communicate standards, procedures and special instructions for the manufacture of new or revised products.- Provide training or other assistance as necessary in measurement techniques, understanding process control documentation, leading root cause analysis, understanding customer requirements, and other quality fundamentals.- Auditing - Participation in customer and internal system audits.- Develop and maintain quality performance reports (from internal and customer sources).- Provide leadership role in on-going product/process improvement efforts for the day to day function of the quality team. - Provide direction to the quality team regarding quality parameters and work flow. - Assist quality manager as needed. - Must be willing to relocate at own expense or live within 40 miles of Huntsville, AL.Qualifications- Minimum of five years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment. - Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity in the field of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Engineering, or Quality Engineering. - Experience with product development in a manufacturing setting. - Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related area preferred.- Experience with manufacturing quality such as: systems documentation, use of Lean and Six Sigma problem solving, PPAP fundamentals, SPC, and inspection methodology.- Strong analytical and communication skills.- Ability to use independent judgment in decisions regarding product quality.- ISO knowledge and experience.- Must be able to commute more than 15 miles from Huntsville. ***Please forward resume and a brief cover letter to kayl105@kellyservices.com or you may reach out to 256-971-0113 x4 .*** NO RELOCATION OFFERED.
