Allied Universal is currently seeking a Security Systems Technician who is responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, managing all trackable devices, maintaining desktop computers and peripherals. The Security Systems Technician will work closely with other members of the Safety and Security department to support all end users.

$65k/yr. + benefits
  • A minimum of an Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field is preferred, with 3-5 years of related IT applications support.

Job Description

The Security System Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, managing all trackable devices, maintaining desktop computers and peripherals. The Security Systems Technician will report to the Systems Manager and will work closely with other members of the Safety and Security department to support all end users

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up, maintain and troubleshoot security desktop.
• Install and configure software (department software).
• Set up and configure Visitor Management System, printers, signature pads, and other peripherals.
• Document issue resolution using the SIMS work order system.
• Maintain inventory of all hardware and software resources and parts in SIMS.
• Maintain excellent communication with all end users and other members of the Safety and Security department and Workplace Support regarding systems.
• Work with local IT team as well as outside vendors as needed.
• Assist with creating training materials for new applications, assisting with product roll-outs, and participating in application enhancement projects.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and processes to continuously monitor data quality and integrity.
• Identify appropriate solutions and/or discover and resolve defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
• Record, track, and documents the problem-solving process, including successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final decision.
• Execute other assigned projects/tasks as delegated by the Security Systems Manager.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Ability to communication ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Local and distant travel occasionally required. Overtime hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
• Good project management skills and/or some exposure to application roll out/enhancements.
• Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization while functioning as a team player.

Educational Background and Experience:

• Microsoft Office suite 2013-2016, MS Windows
• Must be physically able to lift to 30 pounds
• Experience working in a structured, process-driven environment
