The Lead Lift Operator directs and organizes the day-to-day workload for lift operators.  Lift operators are responsible for the safety of our guests while they are loading, riding, and unloading our chairlifts. The Lead Lift Operator leads the team to provide exceptional guest service, safety awareness, and efficient uphill transportation.

AS A LEAD LIFT OPERATOR YOU WILL:

  • Direct day-to-day work of employees within area of responsibility; organize and delegate daily workload
  • Enforce policies, procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff.
  • Perform pre-operation inspections and procedures; notify management of possible equipment issues.
  • Handle all guest issues and concerns by responding to all guests in courteous, respectful and timely manner.
  • Assist Lift Operations Team Lead with hiring, training, developing, scheduling, resolving payroll, reviewing and disciplinary action/termination for employees.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure all operations are performed to provide the best possible guest experience; assist in the performance of all lift operations duties.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for guest safety at chairlifts.
  • Assist all guests in loading, riding and unloading chair lifts.
  • Greet every guest as they enter the lift line queues.
  • Responsible for making positive contact with our guests.
  • Must be safety conscious and able to make quick decisions.
  • Responsible for snow removal, daily set-up, and routine maintenance of lift areas.
  • Able to work outside for extended periods of time in winter conditions.
  • Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times.  Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner.
  • Maintain compliance with all department standards of appearance and behavior.
  • Must be able to work independently or in a small team to accomplish daily tasks.
  • Complete daily lift logs for each shift.
  • Operation of assigned lift in accordance with department procedures and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous Lift Operations experience – Required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age – Required
  • Must be willing to work evenings, holidays and weekends – Required
  • Fun, outgoing personality and ability to engage with internal and external customers quickly to develop rapport.
  • Willing and enthusiastic about working in an outdoor winter alpine environment.
  • Independent contributor with the ability to work well in a team; demonstrates responsibility for self and others in timeliness and task completion.
  • Ability to perform in a high paced, variable, multi-faceted environment with the ability to multi-task while remaining calm in potentially stressful situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form (in English), including speaking clearly on the Mountain Radio.
  • Physical strength and ability to meet physical demands of the position: standing outside in inclement weather for long periods of time; shovel and rake snow surfaces; walk, stand, stoop, and kneel frequently; lift up to 50lbs.
