Role Description:

Private Credit & Equity (PC&E) launched a new opportunistic investment strategy in 2017 led by two Portfolio Managers focused on providing nimble, opportunistic capital with the flexibility to invest across asset classes, sectors and geographies in changing market environments. The strategy seeks to create a diversified portfolio of uncorrelated investments unconstrained by the usual rigid alternatives investment mandates. The team will directly interface with the global Morgan Stanley platform, and consequently will look to source proprietary opportunities throughout the Morgan Stanley network. As a member of the investment team, this integral role involves working with senior staff members in all facets of managing a portfolio of investments.

Responsibilities include:

* Assisting in fundraising efforts

* Collaborating across business units in the sourcing of potential investment opportunities

* Working with senior members of the Fund to conduct diligence on investment opportunities

* Coordinating with advisors and consultants on due diligence items

* Constructing company financial forecast and valuation models

* Executing other investment related tasks (tracking prospective deals, analyzing currency hedging, negotiating confidentiality agreements, etc.)

* Producing investment memoranda on acquisition opportunities

* Preparing/ coordinating bi-annual Advisory Committee materials

* Monitoring the performance of portfolio companies

* Assisting with investor reporting

Qualifications:

* BA/BS required

* 3-5 years of experience in a financial analytics type position

* Strong analytical and financial skills

* Excellent communication skills

* Outstanding capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint

* Ability to work and think independently under time constraints

* High commitment and strong self --motivation; entrepreneurial spirit

* Committed to delivering the highest quality work product; strong attention to detail

* Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks

* Deal experience from a leading investment bank (or private equity) analyst training program

* An understanding and passion for analyzing a business from an investor's perspective

* Strong interest (if no experience) in investing
