About this job

DISH is a Fortune 200 company with more than $15 billion in annual revenue that continues to redefine the communications industry. Our legacy is innovation and a willingness to challenge the status quo, including reinventing ourselves. We disrupted the pay-TV industry in the mid-90s with the launch of the DISH satellite TV service, taking on some of the largest U.S. corporations in the process, and grew to be the fourth-largest pay-TV provider. We are doing it again with the first live, internet-delivered TV service – Sling TV – that bucks traditional pay-TV norms and gives consumers a truly new way to access and watch television.

Now we have our sights set on upending the wireless industry and unseating the entrenched incumbent carriers.

We are driven by curiosity, pride, adventure, and a desire to win – it’s in our DNA. We’re looking for people with boundless energy, intelligence, and an overwhelming need to achieve to join our team as we embark on the next chapter of our story.

Opportunity is here. We are DISH.

A successful Senior Financial Analyst will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, preferably Business/MIS, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering; and 2+ years of experience.  Advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
  • Experience and skill set necessary to work with “big data”; SQL or similar programming language is required.
  • Proven quantitative and analytical ability.
  • Spreadsheet modeling in Excel, Database (SQL, VBA).
  • Tableau experience a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

With a saturated consumer base, the focus on customer retention for the TV industry is becoming increasingly important to net subscriber metrics and profitability.  As a result, our need for talented and motivated individuals has never been greater.  In this role you will have the opportunity to join the Retention team in an analytics capacity with the primary responsibility of explaining the behavior of the existing customer base and the impact that our retention tactics have on our customers.  This is not a pure reporting/analytics role; you are expected to help guide strategic decisions and collaborate across teams.

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Develop new and maintain established reporting on retention offers and customer behavior.
  • Forecast existing customer behavior and retention patterns to key stakeholders (including C-level executives) throughout the company.
  • Guide business decisions through effective communication of key findings.
  • Develop, support, and trouble-shoot processes to improve, advance, or simplify data gathering and/or reporting and analytics.
