Role Overview: The Salon Coordinator is the first and last representation of the Salon Institute to prospective students, current students, and clients. We are looking for someone who believes that first impressions are everything and always is looking for ways to take the student and client experience to the next level. This is the perfect role for a sales-minded professional.

The Salon Coordinator is a dual role, responsible for the efficient operation of the student salon floor as well as supporting the admissions team in assisting potential students. Student salon floor duties include greeting clients with a positive and polite demeanor; answering multi-line phones; coaching and helping to develop students in their customer service and retail sales skills; and partnering with the education team, academy director and admissions team to provide and maintain a positive, engaging environment for students, clients and staff alike.

Admission partnership aspects of the Salon Coordinator include scheduling admissions appointments when potential students call; facilitating campus tours in partnership with the academy director; and helping to guide potential students through the application and enrollment process.

Hours: Varied and negotiable; generally Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional Saturday hours for potential student meetings or to support the front desk staff if needed.

Student Support:

  • Maintain a positive and strictly professional relationship with students at all times. We have a non-fraternization policy between students and staff.
  • Treat students like guests -- they are our #1 client!
  • Manage student and client schedules
  • Communicate schedule changes with students when possible

Guest Experience:

  • Check guest in and out promptly
  • Greet guests promptly with a warm and friendly smile
  • Listen to and understand guest needs when booking appointments
  • Handle and help resolve guest service concerns utilizing support from Director when necessary
  • Ensure guest leave happy and ready to give us a 5-star Yelp or Facebook review

Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Partner with Education Team to execute, monitor and evaluate student contests and other motivating activities
  • Communicate daily with clients to confirm future appointments and ensure accurate booking
  • Monitor and restock retail product shelves daily, as well as participate in merchandizing
  • Manage and oversee balancing of daily cash flow and reporting of the same

* Inventory and replenish all supplies daily

  • Answer incoming calls on multi-line phones with accuracy as well as confirm and update client information
